American singer Beyonce Knowles gave birth to a baby girl, on Saturday night, at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Since then, a fake photograph of the singer with her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, has surfaced online.

On Monday, a snapshot from a video which shows the singer supposedly holding her daughter has surfaced on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

The photograph features Beyonce wearing a white dress and sitting on a bed, with her daughter sleeping in her arms. However, the photograph is a morphed one; the original is one of the singer with her husband, Jay-Z.

Unfortunately, the fake has been tweeted and re-tweeted by thousands of people.

According to reports, the parents have avoided any contact with the media, over photographs, exclusive or otherwise, of their daughter.

They are one of the most private couples, one magazine editor told the Huffington Post, adding, We have made several offers to their people about running exclusive images of mother and baby and no one has responded.

If Beyonce and Jay-Z do decide to share their child with the world, they will probably go the same route as Tom Cruise and Katie, the editor said.
