Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Head To Houston To Help Hurricane Harvey Victims

Beyoncé and her daughter, Blue Ivy, have visited Houston to meet the people affected by Hurricane Harvey.

On Friday, Beyoncé, 36, and Blue Ivy arrived at St. John's United Methodist Church, E! News reported. The mother and daughter were joined by the singer's mom, Tina Knowles, and her longtime pastor, Rudy Rasmus.

While speaking with the crowd gathered at the church, Queen Bey revealed that she is a native of Houston and recalled some of her experiences growing up. "I just wanna say that I'm home," the "Lemonade" singer said (via Entertainment Tonight). "This church is my home. I was maybe 9 or 10 years old the first time I sat there where my daughter is sitting."

Beyoncé recalled the time she sang her first solo in the church. She also thanked everyone for lifting her family up, for praying for her and for being a great example of love and light. According to the "Halo" singer, she feels that she has been blessed, so she wants to be a blessing to others as well.

"This today is a celebration of survival," Beyoncé continued. "Ya'll are my family. Houston is my home. I thank God that you're safe, your children are safe. I think that really matters is your health and your children and your family. I just wanna say I love you. I've been blessed so that I can bless other people and I ask of God to continue to do that for other people."

Earlier that day, Knowles and Michelle Williams helped out by serving lunch to 400 flood victims while wearing aprons with the logo of the singer's organization, BeyGood. Prior to visiting Houston to help Hurricane Harvey victims, Beyoncé had expressed her intention to help through her church and organization. The singer previously said that she has been working with her BeyGood team and with pastor Rasmus to implement a plan to help the victims.

Aside from the singer, a number of celebrities have donated to help the survivors. Sandra Bullock gave $1 million to aid the hurricane survivors. The Kardashians, Nicki Minaj, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Chris Brown and T.I. have also donated.
