Beyoncé, Jay Z Divorce Rumors: ‘It’s Not Going To Last,’ Source Says
Beyonce and Jay Z might be one of the most powerful couples in music, but behind closed doors their marriage is anything but strong, a new report by the New York Post’s Page Six says. The “Crazy in Love” stars have been plagued with divorce rumors, with many assuming they have only stayed together to complete their “On The Run” tour, which is set to finish in mid-September.
The famous couple, known internationally, has been extremely private since they hooked up in the early 2000s. During their concerts they have shared some personal footage from their wedding and appear to be a happy family with their daughter Blue Ivy, but apparently their relationship is anything but blissful, a source told Page Six.
Still, there’s a lot of money involved. Page Six said the “On The Run” show has is predicted to rake in more than $100 million. Forbes ranked Beyonce the most powerful celebrity in 2014 and placed Jay Z in sixth place. Their combined worth, however, has been listed at $1 billion. The money is one of the things that is apparently keeping them together, at least until the tour is over.
“There’s still something there, even though it’s not going to last,” a source told Page Six. “Business is always part of the equation. They know they’re the king and queen of hip-hop -- and really, all of music. Neither wants to lose that.”
Ever since Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles attacked her brother-in-law in the Standard Hotel elevator after the Met Gala, source said the couple is permanently broken. Jay Z, whose real name is Sean Carter, is rumored to have cheated on Beyonce with protegee Rita Ora, Rihanna and even “Case of the Ex” singer Mya.
“Knowing them as I do, obviously there’s a little something to certain rumors,” the source said. “When your man or your woman isn’t getting it done for you, and I’m talking emotionally, not necessarily sexually … they keep things quiet.”
Keeping quiet is something the power couple has done. Regarding the divorce rumors, Beyonce indirectly responded by posting a family photo to Instagram.
