Beyonce wowed parents and spectators during a recently held benefit event for her daughter Blue Ivy’s elementary school.

The former “Destiny’s Child” band member surprised the attendees of the recently held gala event to mark the 75th anniversary of the Center for Early Education held Saturday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, according to Us Weekly magazine. Beyonce performed during the event and sang several of her hits such as “Crazy in Love,” “Halo” and “XO.” She also gave an amazing rendition of the late Whitney Houston’s hit song “I Will Always Love You.”

During the surprise performance for Blue Ivy’s school event, the “Single Ladies” crooner wore a short black-gold tiger-print dress. The reflective dress featured long sleeves and a plunging neckline. Beyonce also donned fishnet stockings to complete the look. She even left her hair down and flowing for her special set.

Meanwhile, the singer’s performance was also captured through several social media posts that showed clips of Beyonce’s set. Instagram user wandamcdaniel even uploaded a short video of Beyonce asking the gala’s attendees to sing with her during her “I Will Always Love You” cover. The said social media post was captioned, “#CEE #QueenBey sings #whitneyhouston Listen to the children's voices. #beyonce #sosweet #cee75 We will always love you.”

This was not first time that Beyonce sang a cover of Houston’s 1990s hit song. She already performed the iconic song several times. Jay Z’s wife even dedicated it to the late Paul Walker during a 2013 concert held to honor the “Fast and Furious” actor.

The song was also previously used as a soundtrack to the movie “Bodyguard” that starred Houston and Kevin Costner. However, Houston’s iconic song was also a cover version. Dolly Parton was the first artist who recorded “I Will Always Love You” in 1974, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Houston’s cover of “I Will Always Love You” topped Billboard’s charts for 14 weeks when it was released in 1992, according to the same report.
