Beyoncé To Perform At 2014 Grammy Awards, Readies Surprise 'Moment' For Show: Report
Next week's Grammy Awards may include a fresh surprise from Beyoncé, reports the Los Angeles Times.
According to Pop & Hiss -- the Times music blog -- a source "with knowledge of the plans" has revealed that the Queen Bey will make her first televised performance in support of her latest smash album, "Beyoncé." A second source told the site that Madonna would also be joining Beyonce as one of the show's surprise guests.
Grammy Awards show producer Ken Ehrlich wouldn't go as far as confirming Beyoncé's performance. However, he didn't deny the possibility when speaking to Pop & Hiss in a recent interview.
“Let’s put it this way … We have a really great history that goes back to the early days of Destiny’s Child,” said Ehrlich. “I love working with [Beyoncé]. She’s incredible. She is so into what it is that she does and making sure that everybody who sees her walks away saying, ‘Wow.’”
He added, “Should she be on the show this year? I would think that the potential is there for that kind of moment.”
When contacted by the L.A. Times, reps for Madonna and Beyoncé did not return requests for comment.
The 56th Annual Grammy Awards will air live on Sunday, January 26, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. Perfomers for Grammy night include acts like Daft Punk with Nile Rodgers, Pharrell Williams and Stevie Wonder; Kendrick Lamar with Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Katy Perry and Pink.
