Beyonce, a puppy named after the megastar wife of rapper Jay-Z, was able to fit in a tablespoon when she was just one day old and now she could end up setting the record for the world's tiniest pup.

To get an idea of how tiny Beyonce is, here are a few comparisons: She is not that much bigger than a business card and she is almost as big as an iPhone.

The pup's mother, Casey, is a Dachshund mix and was found pregnant and abandoned on the streets of San Bernardino, Calif. Beyonce's mother and the pups were going to be euthanized, but the Grace Foundation, an animal rescue operation in Northern California, rescued them.

On March 8, Casey delivered her puppies. Beyonce, the smallest, was the last of the five to be born. She was not breathing and had no heartbeat. Beyonce was given mouth-to-mouth to get her breathing properly, the foundation stated in a press release.

The foundation also noted that Beyonce needed to be bottle fed every hour because her mouth was too small to be able to nurse properly.

Despite her rough start and unusually small size, Beyonce is thriving and is normal in every other way, the foundation noted in a press release.

Beyonce and her other siblings will be ready for adoption in a few weeks.

It's a remarkable story. You don't expect dogs to survive with that many chances of death, Jeanne Warr, the Grace Foundation's director of operations, told ABC News. She is just a remarkable little survivor.

The foundation has already submitted an application to Guinness World Records for world's smallest dog.
