Beyonce Pregnant, Shows Baby Bump After VMA 2011 Performance [PHOTOS & VIDEO]
Beyonce confirmed that she is pregnant after performing at the 2011 VMAs.
Following her performance, Beyonce dropped her microphone, unbuttoned her sparkly purple jacket and rubbed her belly - a confirmation that she has a bun in the oven.
The camera then cut to her husband Jay-Z, who was among the screaming audience, and he was flashing a huge smile, clapping and saluting his sexy wife on stage. Kanye West also joined in on the jubilation by shaking Jay-Z's shoulders - and at one point screaming in his ears like a star-struck teenage girl.
Beyonce has been married to Jay-Z for about three years. Throughout that time, there have always been rumors that she was pregnant. The platinum selling star has said many times over that she planned on having a baby by the time she was 30.
Beyonce turns 30 in September.
I feel like a woman, Beyonce told MTV. I feel like I'm very aware of who I am. I feel great and I feel like 30 is the ideal age [to start a family], because you're mature enough to know who you are and to have your boundaries and your standards, and not be afraid, too polite ? but you're young enough to be a young woman.
The star also said, I'm so looking forward to it.
Before confirming the pregnancy on stage, Beyonce had hinted to paparazzi that she had a surprise in store for the night.
She had taken pictures holding her stomach before all was confirmed. But it wasn't until the she spilled the beans after performing Love on Top and rubbed her tummy while wearing a pair of elastic maternity pants that people believed the diva was indeed pregnant.
I always said I'd have a baby at 30, Beyonce told MTV. But I also said I'm going to retire at 30. ... Only God knows.
Twitter said news of Beyonce's pregnancy set a record.
Last night at 10:35 pm, Beyonce's big MTV #VMA moment gave Twitter a record bump: 8,868 Tweets per second, announced Twitter.
