Following reports that Beyoncé’s twins, Rumi and Sir Carter, had a rough time following their birth, the singer’s mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, has insisted the babies are doing well, and that they have a special person looking out for them-- big sister Blue Ivy Carter.

While attending the Habitat For Humanity Builder’s Ball, Lawson revealed that the 5-year-old takes her role as an older sister very seriously, and has already formed a special bond with her siblings.

The singer’s mother revealed that her granddaughter feels like she has a certain responsibility when it comes to her younger brother and sister. “She’s doing amazing! She’s a big sister and she feeds them and she’s excited,” Lawson told Us Weekly while praising her granddaughter.

“And she feels responsible for them being here because she prayed for them,” she added.

Beyoncé gave birth to the twins in June, but the babies were required to remain in the hospital due to a “minor issue,” according to TMZ.

While the “Formation” singer was in good health following the birth, doctors weren’t comfortable releasing the twins because they were premature. Following their birth, Rumi and Sir were placed “under the lights,” due to a condition called jaundice, which causes elevated bilirubin levels.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the condition causes a yellow discoloration in an infant’s skin and eyes. The twins were eventually released from the hospital and allowed to go home, where their older sister watched out for them. “She’s always picking out cute clothes for them,” a source told Us Weekly.

“She’ll run up to see how they’re doing. She’s always checking on them and helping take care of them,” the insider added.

Lawson revealed that she is ecstatic that the twins are doing well after Beyoncé’s complicated pregnancy. “They are amazing,” she said.

“They’re very young but they like to touch and they’re adorable and just beautiful and healthy and I’m just so happy,” she added.

Beyoncé, who shared the first photo of the twins in July, announced her pregnancy in February on Instagram, by sharing a photo of herself in a garden while caressing her baby bump.

“We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters,” she captioned the photo.

Prior to her pregnancy, Beyoncé signed on to headline the 2017 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. However, the singer was later forced to pull out of the performance due to her doctor’s orders.

While the songstress promised to headline the festival in 2018, she has already released new music. Although this may not make it onto an album, Beyoncé recorded the song for a good cause, in order to help those affected by Hurricane Maria.

The singer released a remix to J. Balvin and Willy William’s “Mi Gente” and promised that she would donate to those affected. “I am donating my proceeds from this song to hurricane relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and the other affected Caribbean islands,” she wrote on Instagram.
