Beyonce, who had one of the most anticipated baby births since last year, has finally given birth to a baby girl, according to reports.
News that the singer checked into a New York hospital on Friday night began to spread like wildfire on social-media sites.
The New York Daily News reported that Beyonce and Jay-Z rented the entire fourth floor of Lenox Hill Hospital on the Upper East Side for the birth. That report also noted that after 11 p.m., doctors and nurses were not allowed to enter the fourth floor.
The Daily News article also stated that the private couple prevented images of Blue their daughter, now named Blue Ivy, from leaking to the public because hospital workers put tape over security cameras.
Employees were also reportedly asked to turn in their cell phones when they reported to work for their shift, a source told the Daily News.
Rumors of Beyonce giving birth began circulating since December. Back then, the speculations were that she gave birth to a daughter and named the baby Tiana May Carter. However, those reports proved to be false, as a pregnant Beyonce was seen out and about in Brooklyn, N.Y., with Jay-Z on Christmas Eve.
Then there were reports that the star flew home to give birth at a hospital in her hometown of Houston.
Then last public photo of Beyonce before she gave birth was on Thursday when she was seen with mom, Tina Knowles, before she checked in to give birth to Blue Ivy.

Beyonce announced her pregnancy in August. Since then, there have been several rumors surrounding her pregnancy, with some speculating that the pregnancy was a fake and others indicating she had given birth over the Christmas holiday.
However, Beyonce tackled the false-pregnancy rumors when she told Katie Couric that the rumors were just ridiculous.
As for giving birth over the Christmas holiday, Beyonce was seen with her husband in Brooklyn on Christmas Eve, and she was still pregnant. She was also seen with a baby bump last week while in New York with her mother.
Reports are that the couple will not sell their baby's photos.
