Bhutan's fifth “Dragon King,” Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, and fiancée Jetsun Pema will be married Thursday in a three-day wedding ceremony in Bhutan's ancient capital Punakha.
The 31-year-old monarch announced his engagement to Pema, a commoner, in May, during a parliamentary session, and set the countdown clock ticking, preparing for the grand wedding of the tiny Himalayan kingdom.
Wangchuck, often called Prince Charming for his Elvis Presley looks, will marry his longtime girlfriend, who is a 21-year-old student at London's Regents College.
The Oxford-educated Wangchuck assumed the Raven Crown of Bhutan in 2008 and was crowned the fifth king of Bhutan by his father, King Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
