‘The Big Bang Theory’ Stars Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco To Ask For Pay Raise After Season 10? Kunal Nayyar Responds To Rumors
Some of “The Big Bang Theory” cast members’ contracts are up for renewal at the end of Season 10, and there are rumors that Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco and Mayim Bialik will be asking for a pay raise.
While speaking with the New York Daily News, Kunal Nayyar slammed the allegations, saying that Parsons, Cuoco and Bialik are all more than willing to return for Season 11 even without a bigger paycheck. After all, Nayyar calls the set of “The Big Bang Theory” “the happiest place on Earth” because this is where he and his co-stars get to portray their roles and build relationships.
“As an artist that is a difficult thing to do as obviously you want to keep things fresh and you want to have the ability to explore other characters. But as a human being, being on the show is the happiest place in the world. So if this were the rest of my life, and if I could make a living as an actor being surrounded by such talented and wonderful people and co-workers who are more than but are family, then absolutely yes,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Bialik previously hinted that she and her co-stars are overpaid. Even though she’s not earning as much, the actress said that she doesn’t think about money a lot. This could be a hint that Bialik does not plan on asking her bosses for a raise.
“I am grateful to be employed… I don’t think pay has anything to do with the quality of the show,” she said while at the 33rd Annual PaleyFest in Los Angeles earlier this year.
In other news, Cuoco is also confident that “The Big Bang Theory” will be renewed for at least one more season. The actress told TV Line that she wants to be part of the show for as long as possible.
“The Big Bang Theory” Season 10 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
