K-Pop boy band Big Bang is ready to take on the world.

G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P., Daesung and Seungri will embark on the band's first ever world tour, beginning with a 3-night stint at the Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastic Stadium Mar. 2-4.

The world tour will bring Big Bang to 16 countries and 25 cities, in North America, Europe, Asia and South America, according to promoter Live Nation.

We are very happy that we are working with YG Entertainment and Big Bang to show [our work] to worldwide K-Pop fans. If this performance is a good starting point for the Korea branch we established last December, we expect it to contribute to the K-pop fever expansion, Live Nation president Alan Ridgeway said in a statement obtained by allkpop.com.

The world tour is in support of Big Bang's new album, ALIVE, due this spring.

According to Live Nation, the tour will be directed by Laurieanne Gibson, the Emmy-nominated brains behind Lady Gaga's last world tour, The Monster Ball Tour. Gibson also choreographed the moves for Gaga's Poker Face, Judas and Telephone.

YG Entertainment, Big Bang's record label, has high hopes for the world tour, as the group is deemed by many as the label's biggest act.

We are in the process of preparing the world's best concert . . . with the newly released album and the starting of the world tour, you will be able to confirm Big Bang's maturity and skill, YG Entertainment said in a statement.
