‘Big Brother Over The Top’ Host Julie Chen On Alex, Houseguests' Reaction To Donald Trump Win
“Big Brother Over The Top” recently said goodbye to Alex, and host Julie Chen was one of those who was shocked by her exit.
As the host of the show, Chen thought that Alex would go very far in the competition, but she later on realized that America doesn’t really like her. The host couldn’t help but wonder which houseguest America would vote to keep until the finale. “I was very surprised America nominated and voted out Alex. Goes to show me to expect the unexpected. I am very curious to see who America does like, ‘cause this season has me baffled,” she told Entertainment Weekly.
Meanwhile, the remaining houseguests found out that Donald Trump was named the 45th president of the United States last week, leaving all of them shocked. According to Chen, they felt it was necessary for the houseguests to know such an important event, even though the concept of “Big Brother” shields them from the outside world.
“We thought it would be fascinating to see how young Americans reacted to the news without the influence of watching or reading anything. They may just be the most genuine in their reactions out of any of us,” she said.
In other news, the houseguests once again participated in the Power of Veto (POV) competition this week. Shelby, who was named as this week’s Head of Household (HOH), was joined by Jason and Danielle in the game. The latter two are this week’s nominees. Morgan, America’s nominee this week, was also part of the competition together with Kryssie and Justin. In the end, Shelby won the game fair and square with a time of 9 minutes and 38 seconds. This means that she has the power to retain the nominees until eviction night.
“Big Brother Over The Top” airs weekly on CBS All Access.
