‘Big Brother’ Season 19: Jessica’s Biggest Mistakes That Could Jeopardize Her Win
“Big Brother” Season 19 host Julie Chen has been uttering the mantra, “Expect the unexpected,” over and over again, but houseguest Jessica Graf veered away from this and did everything that was expected of her.
After being named last week’s Head of Household (HOH), Jessica had all of the power in the house. But she was so afraid of nominating the biggest threat in her game, Paul Abrahamian, because she and Cody Nickson didn’t want to rock the boat too much.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Chen noted that last week was the best time to take Paul out if Jessica wanted to get revenge for her and Cody. Putting Paul up against a pawn like Ramses Soto could’ve guaranteed that the professional cosplayer would stay in the game. Despite all of the houseguests working with Paul at the moment, they also know that he’s a huge target and would’ve voted to keep Ramses inside the house.
Another wrong move Jessica made had to be putting Ramses up as a pawn. The youngest houseguest could’ve stayed in the game longer since he didn’t have any problems with anyone. But since Jessica put him up against Josh Martinez and the houseguests wanted to keep the latter so they would have more people on their side, Ramses was the one who was sent home.
Additionally, Jessica also made the big mistake of not using the Power of Veto (POV) that was thrown at her by Cody. Jessica could’ve taken Ramses off the block and put Paul up since she already had a feeling that the houseguests were coming up with a backdoor plan to take innocent Ramses out of the competition.
The final blow from Jessica came after Ramses already left the house. Chen asked her what she has in mind now that Josh is still in the game. Jessica shocked everyone when she blurted out that she has the third Den of Temptation privilege. According to Chen, it was a wrong move because it could change the course of the game for her and Cody, especially now that Paul is the HOH. “Why give away the fact that you are holding an ace?” Chen said.
“Big Brother” Season 19 will return to CBS on Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT.
