Bigbang's G-Dragon Makes Surprise Appearance At Fan Event [Watch]
Bigbang's G-Dragon has made some of his fans happy as he made a surprise appearance in a studio where they were filming a tribute for him.
G-Dragon's clothing brand, PeaceMinusOne, recently collaborated with Nike to release a new Sneaker, Kwondo 1. As part of his promotional activities with his new collaborative endeavor, the Bigbang rapper teamed up with Vogue Korea to surprise some of his loyal fans.
Vogue Korea invited some Bigbang fans, commonly known as VIPs, to its studio to congratulate G-Dragon on the sneakers' release earlier this month.
Each fan was instructed to film their message in front of visual screens.
A female fan brought along a sketchbook, which conveyed her thoughts for her favorite musician.
"He completed such a cool project and he even came up with a cool brand name. He showed off his personal identity through this collaboration so I am grateful. I really like it. I just hope he is happy and healthy," she said in the video, according to Koreaboo.
As she wrapped up her speech, G-Dragon popped up in the filming booth much to the surprise of the loyal fan. The rapper asked her about the sketches before posing for a photo with the ecstatic fan.
The "Bang Bang Bang" rapper also surprised a male fan, who referred to him as his "life's artist."
"He is the person that's been my life's artist. Every time he creates something, I believe it becomes a culture. He's been with me since I was a child so it's deeply touching," the fan said.
Bigbang debuted in 2006 as a five-member boyband, which includes Taeyang, Daesung, Seungri, T.O.P. and Seungri.
Although they have not made new music in a while, Bigbang is still regarded as the "Kings of K-pop." VIP members launched a protest in front of YG Entertainment's building last month demanding a relaunch of the group with four members after Seungri's retirement from the band in 2019.
Seungri retired from the entertainment industry in 2019 after he was accused of providing prostitutes to customers in a club in Seoul. He was convicted by a military court for prostitution and gambling charges in August.
