The most controversial reality show on Indian television might take a dramatic turn, as host Salman Khan has reportedly bid farewell to Big Boss.

The Bollywood star wouldn't be able to host the sixth season of the show because of his tightly packed schedule, BusinessofCinema.com has reported.

According to the celebrity Web site, the actor has supposedly asked the show's producers to rope in Sanjay Dutt to play host from next season onwards.

Both Khan and his dearest friend co-hosted the fifth season of Bigg Boss, but the Dabangg actor didn't show up for most of the season. Khan playing host, however, was paramount to the producers as his charismatic presence helped the show boost its TRPs.

The Web site cited an unidentified source as saying, Salman feels Sanjay Dutt is doing a fine job on the show, and the TRPs show no substantial decline when Salman is not around. So yes, the possibility of letting Sanjay Dutt take over the anchoring of the next season of 'Bigg Boss' completely is now being considered, though again Sanju's schedules are water-tight too.

According to an earlier report published by Hindustan Times, Khan raised hopes that he would be back to host a new season of Bigg Boss. It's still a couple of months away. I don't know what the channel is thinking. But I love this show. And if they really want me back, I will make time for them, the actor said after shooting for the Bigg Boss grand finale.

Business of Cinema reported that the network heads are yet to decide if they want Dutt as the new host, and that this decision was left to the actors themselves. So far there's been no official confirmation from the network that telecasts the show.
