Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has been the highest-paid player in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the past four seasons and remains the league's top earner for the 2021-22 season.

But while he is making an annual average salary of over $54 million – the highest in the NBA, he is not the player with the biggest contract to date. So who could it be?

It's none other than Milwaukee Bucks power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Antetokounmpo, a native of Athens, Greece, was the No. 15 overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft and was widely regarded as a developmental prospect when he entered the league.

When he first arrived in the NBA, Antetokounmpo's contract paid him $8.6 million over three years.

In December 2020, Antetokounmpo agreed to a $228 million, five-year supermax extension with the Bucks – the largest in league history.

The deal keeps the 27-year-old defending two-time MVP and Defensive Player of the Year with Milwaukee through at least 2025.

Under the contract, Antetokounmpo will average $46 million per season. As per Spotrac, he made $39 million in season 2021-22, and he will make $42 million in season 2022-23. In the final season, he will receive a $52 million salary.

Last August, Curry signed a four-year $215.35 million extension with the Warriors, which will take him through season 2025-26.

Under the contract, Curry will make $48 million in season 2022-23. In the final season, he will receive a whopping $60 million.

To date, Curry has a net worth of $160 million, while Antetokounmpo's net worth is valued at $70 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth.
