Billboard’s Women In Music 2017: When, Where To Watch And Who’s Performing
Billboard is once again celebrating women in the world of music with its annual dinner and awards ceremony, Women in Music, on Thursday. The show will feature stars like Selena Gomez, who is being honored as Billboard’s Woman of the Year, and Kelly Clarkson.
Where And When Can You Watch?
The event will take place at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles on Thursday evening, and while it is not open to the public and is not available to watch on TV, it will be streamed online.
The actual event and its red carpet pre-show will be live streamed on Twitter from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. EST.
Which Artists Will Be Honored And Which Will Be Performing?
Aside from Gomez, who will be accepting her award for Billboard's Woman of the Year, the show will also have quite a few other celebrities in attendance.
Mary J. Blige, Clarkson, Camila Cabello, Kehlani and Grace VanderWaal will be there, as they are also receiving honors, with the last four performing during the event as well.
Leading up to the Women in Music event, Gomez spoke with Billboard about why she’s proud to be honored and about the great things she’s seen by women in the industry.
“An extremely positive thing and change in the music industry that I’ve seen has been the women,” she said in a Billboard video. “I think the women have really defined their voices and I feel most comfortable because I see all the women I look up to feeling comfortable enough to talk about the struggles or things that they've gone through.”
The “Wolves” singer also spoke about how she’s experienced a lot with her health, but that she’s been able to talk about it confidently because wants to “make a positive impact” by telling others about her story.
“I think it’s such an important time when everybody can say what they feel and know that their platforms are used for something great. I’m so proud and happy to be a part of the industry while it is changing this way and I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of that.
