Billie Eilish Opens Up About Her Career: 'Never Compared Myself To Other Stars'

Billie Eilish is undoubtedly one of the shining names in the music industry at present. The way she has introduced herself to the world of music is something that every budding artist dreams of. From winning Grammys at the age of 18 to being the youngest female artist to sing the James Bond theme song, Eilish has already achieved so much at such a young age.

A lot of people tell her that she is now in the list of elite musicians, but the “Bad Guy” hitmaker believes that comparison is not what she is fond of.

In an interview with Dazed, the 18-year-old musician revealed that she will never “compare” herself to other pop stars because she is no different from all of them and certainly did not “break” any rules to do what she is doing today.

Eilish further stated that she is not a rule-breaker and did not think of herself being in the same league as them.

“[People would say], ‘Billie Eilish: rule-breaker,’ or ‘breaking all the rules,’ or whatever. And I would be like, ‘What rules are there?’ I did not consciously go, ‘I am not gonna do that, I am gonna do this.’ I [just] did not think of myself as being in the realm of those people. I was never comparing myself to them,” Eilish said.

Later in the discussion, the Grammy award-winning artist revealed the reason behind her baggy clothes. Eilish noted that she started wearing baggy clothes because she really “hated” her body.

“The only reason I did it was because I hated my body. There was a point last year where I was naked and I did not recognize my body because I hadn't seen it in a while,” Eilish said.

She has always been outspoken about her dressing sense. Some people believe that she should change her style, but Eilish has her reasons to choose what she wants to wear.

Last year, while speaking with Elle, the “Ocean Eyes” singer explained why she wears baggy clothes most of the time.

“The point is not: Hey, let’s go slut-shame all these girls for not dressing like Billie Eilish. It makes me mad. I have to wear a big shirt for you not to feel uncomfortable about my boobs,” Eilish said.
