'Billions' Season 5, Episode 3 Preview: Axe Faces Family Crisis

Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) will face new challenges in “Billions” Season 5, episode 3. A preview video of the next episode has been released online that shows the billionaire dealing with problem at work, but that will not be the only issue he will have to face.

Axe is planning a big move with a bank and the preview video shows him meeting with Robert Beaufort (Chelcie Ross) and his old friend Todd Krakow (Danny Strong) to find a solution. According to the official plot synopsis however the business deal will have to wait because the billionaire will be forced to take care of a family crisis first.

Chuck (Paul Giamati) on the other hand will also be fighting on two fronts. He already has a delicate relationship with his wife Wendy (Maggie Siff), and he will meet with her to get something. The preview video shows Wendy being able to guess that her husband wants something from her and he is only apologizing as a way to get it.

Back at the office, Chuck will have to put out some flames when Kate Sacker (Condola Rashad) will complain to him about the governor taking away the finds she has raised. While Chuck may not be in a position to go on the offensive against the governor, Kate will want him to take on the challenge in “Billions” Season 5, episode 3. The other storyline for the character, according to the synopsis, is that he will go to his alma mater to pursue an opportunity.

Meanwhile, Taylor (Asia Kate Dillon) will have to face her own set of problems. Lately, she hasn’t been performing effectively and she will be told about it in the next episode. According to the synopsis, she will make a risky move to assert her independence.

While the characters on the show face challenges, the actors also faced problems while filming back in December. According to Page Six, a charter bus carrying some extras fell into a ditch after a vehicle “clipped” it on Hudson Valley Road. There were reportedly “minimal injuries” on the dramatic night when the cast and crew were also facing a snowstorm.

“Billions” Season 5, episode 3 is titled “Beg, Bride, Bully.” It will air on May 17 at 9 p.m. EDT on Showtime. Showrunners Brian Koppelman and David Levien previously told Variety that they have enough material to keep the show going for many more seasons.
