Bindi Irwin Shares 1-Week-Old Daughter Grace’s ‘First Croc Encounter’ For April Fools’ Day Joke

It’s April Fools’ Day, and many celebrities are grabbing the chance to pull pranks and jokes on their loved ones. Among them is Bindi Irwin, who just pulled a hilarious prank on her fans on social media with her newborn baby, Grace Warrior.

The “Crikey! It’s the Irwins” star, 22, shared on Twitter a post her mother Terri Irwin, 56, made that featured a photo of the new mom carrying her little bundle of joy while being surrounded by Crocs sandals held by Terri, Bindi’s husband Chandler Powell, 24, and her younger brother Robert, 17.

The post was captioned by Terri with, “Beautiful baby Grace, first croc encounter…April Fool’s!”

Fans quickly reacted to it, with many of them praising the family for the “very funny” joke.

Although it’s too soon for Grace to have her first encounter with real crocodiles, it’s one thing that is inevitable for her, considering her family’s animal-loving background. It’s also worth noting that part of her name is a tribute to her late grandpa, Steve Irwin, who was mostly known for being a wildlife warrior throughout his career as a conservationist and zoologist, as per People.

“Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior,” Bindi previously shared on her Instagram after giving birth to little Grace Warrior on March 25, which was exactly a year after she and her husband tied the knot in 2020.

At the time, the “Dancing with the Stars” champion also revealed that the Grace moniker was from her great-grandmother and from Chandler’s relatives from the 1700s. “Her last name is Powell and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad,” she added.

Apart from the April Fools’ Day post she retweeted, Bindi also shared two new snaps of her family taken that day. In the first snap, she and Powell are seen smiling while cradling their daughter. The second photo gave a close-up look at baby Grace with a printed note that said, “one week old,” over her.

“Our perfect Grace Warrior is one week old. This week has been filled with sweet snuggles and infinite love,” Bindi captioned the post that she shared on Twitter and Instagram.

Powell also uploaded a different photo of their little family on his Instagram. In the snap, he and his wife are all smiles while facing the camera as baby Grace sleeps comfortably in Bindi’s embrace. “One week as a family of 3. My two beautiful girls make every day perfect,” he wrote in the caption.

Powell and Irwin first met in 2013 while the Florida native was touring Australia as part of a wakeboarding competition. They hit it off right away and went public with their relationship in 2015. The wakeboarder then moved to Australia for good in 2018 before popping the question a year later on Bindi’s 21st birthday.

“Every day I’m thankful for this extraordinary man that I get to call my husband. @chandlerpowell9, I love you with all my heart. You’re the light of my life,” Bindi tweeted in February, just a few weeks prior to Grace Warrior’s birth and their first wedding anniversary.
