Bitcoin Price Prediction: Crypto Investor Says BTC Will Hit $12,000

The year 2020 is within days from now, and the future of Bitcoin (BTC) in the next decade is shrouded in mystery, especially when it comes to its price. Even though the king of crypto's price struggles at $7,300 currently, plenty in the crypto world is broadly optimistic that 2020 and beyond will take BTC to astronomical prices.

Perhaps the boldest prediction for the popular crypto is that it will reach a $1 million tag price before the next year ends, and that is made by none other than John McAfee. McAfee has been notoriously bullish for BTC and has even offered some wild consequences like eating his own genitals should he miss his forecast.

Tim Draper is another Bitcoin bull who is unabashed in publicizing his predictions. The billionaire venture capitalist believes that the price of the flagship crypto will reach $250,000 either six months or a year after the scheduled "halving" or further in the next decade.

However, for former hedge fund manager Mike Novogratz, a dollar value extending to six digits is not the case. Novogratz's projection that he tweeted on Saturday is a little more modest at $12,000.

While Novogratz's bet lacks details such as a timeframe and a rationale, that level won't be much of a surprise if Bitcoin revisits it next year because it already had done so in the past. The runup to $13,000 back in June was only in a matter of weeks, and that is from a level that is roughly the same as its current trading price.

Novogratz didn't only come up with a crypto-related outlook. He also channeled his inner crystal gazer in making prophecies about the U.S. elections in which he thinks that Donald Trump will lose by 10 million votes. Adding to that are his predictions for the U.S. wrestling team to take home three gold medals in the Tokyo Olympics and for Tom Hanks to win in the Oscars.
