Bizarre Creature That Looks Like 'Cheeseburger With Teeth' Found By Fisherman [Photo]
A Russian fisherman has discovered an unusual sea creature that resembled a "cheeseburger with teeth."
Roman Fedorstov, a 39-year-old fisherman from Murmansk, was working on a commercial fishing boat when he came across the bizarre-looking creature. He quickly took a photo of the creature and shared it on Instagram. The exact date of the discovery was not known.
"Is it a sea cheeseburger with teeth? Or New chicken sandwich from some fast food restaurant?
Or KFC new seafood double-down sandwich? Or McDonald’s new McRib sandwich?" Fedorstov captioned the post.
The photo soon went viral, with people comparing it to a cheeseburger or a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Some of them also compared the creature to a chicken sandwich.
"Okay who else saw a cheeseburger," one person wrote in the comments section.
"Holy c--p I didn't even realize that was a fish," another user wrote.
"I thought this was the new chicken sandwich to eat at first," commented another user.
The unusual creature remains unidentified as Fedorstov is also unsure what species does it belong to.
This is not the first time the 39-year-old fisherman, who usually catches cod, haddock and mackerel on commercial expeditions, has made an unusual discovery. From one-eyed fish to bearded sea devils, he has seen it all.
"All kinds of fish are beautiful in their own way. I cannot say that they are 'scary' or 'ugly'. People are very interested in unusual sea creatures," he said, Daily Record reported.
"Readers have the impression that with each trawl we bring aboard unusual fish specimens. In fact, this is far from the case. It is a rarity. On the other hand, even a famous fish can be photographed so that it will seem to be a 'monster,'" he added.
Fedorstov said he finds the strange-looking creatures while commercial fishing in the Norwegian and Barents Sea, the Arctic Ocean and the Greenland Sea. Most of them live in the Mesopelagic zone of the ocean which stretches from a depth of 660 to 3,300 feet.
