‘Black Panther’ Movie Premiere Best-Dressed: Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan And More
Marvel’s long-awaited “Black Panther” movie is still a few weeks away from entering theaters, but Hollywood already had the chance to see the movie when it premiered on Monday night at the Dolby Theatre. Before stars entered the venue, they walked down a purple carpet, showing off their best looks, with many of them clearly inspired by the film.
Here are some of the best-dressed celebs from the “Black Panther” premiere in Hollywood:
Lupita Nyong’o always knows how to look her best at events, but she really outdid herself this time. The actress showed up matching the carpet in a gorgeous purple Atelier Versace gown, which was adorned with golden and jeweled accents.
Angela Bassett stood out in a vibrant yellow fringe jumpsuit by Naeem Khan and paired it with bangles on each wrist, large earrings and gold heels.
A villain in the film, but a sweet dresser in real life, Michael B. Jordan hit up the purple carpet in a perfectly-tailored Calvin Klein suit and black shoes that had a fun pop of color to them.
Donald Glover rocked the type of style that only he can, which was a bright orange Dolce & Gabbana suit, with a black-and-orange speckled shirt and black shoes.
Sydelle Noel, who stars in the film as Xoliswa, stunned in a shimmering gold Marc Bouwer gown, with strategic cutouts at her sides, shoulders and neck. She donned a half-down, half-high-pony look that perfectly complemented the dress.
Storm Reid, the lead of the upcoming film adaptation of “A Wrinkle in Time,” was fun and fresh in black pants and a matching cropped black top with silver fringe along its bottom.
Issa Rae looked like a funky goddess in a white Rosie Assoulin dress that had one multi-colored side to it to keep it extra exciting. She pulled her hair together in a nice bun right at the top of her head and wore earrings and a long single-strand necklace.
Not only did the celebrities stun on the purple carpet on Monday, but apparently the movie itself stunned critics, as early reviews are out, with full ones coming Feb. 6, and everyone is raving about the new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
“Black Panther” hits theaters Feb. 16.
