‘The Blacklist’ Star James Spader Teases ‘Crazy’ Episodes In Season 3 Return
Things are about to get “crazy” on NBC’s “The Blacklist” Season 3. After a monthlong hiatus, Red (James Spader), Liz (Megan Boone) and Tom (Ryan Eggold) will be back in action on Thursday, April 7. Spader said the first few returning episodes are can't-miss for fans.
On Wednesday night, Spader stopped by “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” to talk about what’s to come in the remaining episodes of “The Blacklist” Season 3. Spader said upcoming episodes 17 and 18 are going to be “nuts.”
“I must say, anybody who has ever had any interest, even in the smallest degree, in the show, even if one saw the pilot and sort of abandoned it from that point, if anyone has ever had any passing interest in the show, boy, [episodes] 17 and 18 are so crazy,” Spader teased.
Spader also debuted a clip from episode 17-- the only one he could show that wouldn’t be a spoiler of what’s to come, he said. The clip features Red trying to convince Liz not to go forward with her marriage to Tom. He tells her he’s not the man she thinks he is, as Tom is shown getting rid of a dead body. In the six episodes remaining in Season 3 of “The Blacklist,” we can expect plenty of twists and turns. The rest of Season 3 could set up a possible spinoff series that would star Famke Janssen and Eggold. Cabal villain Mr. Solomon (Edi Gathegi) will be back for episodes 17 and 18 and is reported to also have a role in the spinoff.
When the show returns next Thursday, Liz and Tom will finally have their wedding — but don’t expect it to go smoothly. Red will try to talk Liz out of going forward with the ceremony, while the task force will be on the hunt for thieves chasing down nuclear weapons.
