Is Blackpink's Jisoo Ill? A Lump On Singer's Neck Worries Fans
A set of photos that surfaced on social media showing a visible lump on Blackpink singer Jisoo's neck has made several fans worried. However, Blackpink's entertainment agency has assured Jisoo was fine.
The photos show the "Shut Down" singer at one of the group's recent performances with a noticeable lump on her neck.
"Could be cancer, she should check it asap," one person wrote in response to a photo shared by Pannchoa, a website that covers Korean pop culture news.
Another fan said, "it's a vocal nodule. Happens when she's overusing her voice. All the singing she's been doing recently and from the past is affecting her now. I don't know if this nodule has been seen before or for the first time now."
But another person disagreed and wrote, "That's not a vocal nodule. That's the lymph nodule. You wouldn't be able to see a vocal nodule on the side of someone's neck as it has the vocal cords. I'm not a doctor, but last time I checked, the vocal cords are not on the side of your neck."
In 2020, a video surfaced online showing Jisoo with a lump on her neck, which made fans worried at the time.
"Oh that's why Jisoo said 24/365 earlier that when she has a chance to go back time she wants to go back on her bed faster. She wants to rest. Now I understand she always wants to go her bed," one person commented.
"Complete proof that she is doing all this for us and stressing herself," another said.
Blackpink's entertainment agency, YG Entertainment, released a statement Friday assuring fans that Jisoo was not ill.
"Jisoo is doing well during BLACKPINK's world tour schedule. There are no problems with her health," YG Entertainment said.
Blackpink is currently on the group's "Born Pink" world tour, which will extend until June next year. The group also recently launched its latest studio album, titled "Born Pink," and its lead single, "Shut Down."
The quartet's new music release once again catapulted the girl group into the top spots on Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts in September.
