Blackpink’s Lisa Drops Teaser Poster Ahead Of Solo Album
Blackpink’s Lisa Manoban and YG Entertainment on Sunday dropped a teaser poster for her solo album on social media that immediately sparked excitement among fans.
"COMING SOON," Lisa wrote on Instagram as she shared the poster. The post garnered over five million likes from fans who spoke of anticipation over her upcoming solo project.
The teaser features a blurry image of the Blackpink member in red high-heeled boots with her hands clasped together.
On Twitter, the #LISA COMING SOON POSTER garnered at least 269,000 retweets and more than 418,000 likes. The hashtag #ArtisteLalisa also became a trending topic on Twitter on Monday.
In July, YG Entertainment confirmed that Lisa was preparing for a solo debut. At that time, the agency said Lisa was already filming for her music video for her solo project set to be released this summer.
She is the third Blackpink member to release solo music. Jennie Kim led the way in November 2018 with her single titled, “SOLO,” which paved the way for her to become the second-ever solo female K-pop star to top Billboard’s World Digital songs sales chart.
The second Blackpink member to release a solo project was Rosé with her album, “R,” released in March. “R” contained her single “On the Ground” which became No. 1 on Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S.
Previously, Lisa appeared to have hinted about her upcoming solo project as she uploaded a couple of photos on her Instagram stories showing her inside a studio.
YG Entertainment confirmed last year that the Blackpink members would be releasing solo offerings in the order of Rosé, Lisa, and Jisoo after the release of their full album titled, “The Album” in October 2020, according to Soompi.
Meanwhile, “BLACKPINK The Movie” has been hailed as the highest-grossing cinema event of 2021 with a total gross of $4.8 million from just under 100 territories, according to Music Week.
Music Week said “Blackpink The Movie” reached No. 6 at its U.S. box office opening on Aug. 4.
The film, which was released as part of Blackpink’s fifth-year celebration, also took the No.1 spot in Mexico on Aug. 4, with cumulative total admissions now exceeding 120,000, Music Week added.
