  • Blackpink's agency YG confirmed that Lisa and Rosé are preparing to make their solo debuts
  • Rosé will start shooting her music video in January, a report says
  • The company suggested Jisoo will also make her solo debut after wrapping up filming for her TV show

Blackpink members Lisa and Rosé’s highly anticipated solo debuts are coming, the band's label YG Entertainment has confirmed.

On Wednesday, South Korea outlet Osen exclusively reported that Rosé will start shooting for a music video next year in mid-January. On the same day, YG Entertainment released a statement confirming that she and Blackpink bandmate Lisa are gearing up for their solo debuts.

"Both Rosé and Lisa are currently carrying out the necessary steps for their solo music releases. It's true that there are plans for them to film MVs soon," the statement obtained by Korean newspaper Kyunghyang Daily News read.

The company added that Lisa and Rosé will release solo tracks first since Jisoo has yet to wrap filming for her debut drama series, “Snowdrop.” This appeared to confirm rumors that Jisoo will release her own solo track or album soon.

YG said “more specific details” regarding the solo tracks will be released soon.

Since Blackpink entered the music scene in August 2016, only Jennie has made her solo debut among the four members of the band, releasing her track “Solo” in 2018.

All four members currently have a hectic schedule as they are preparing for the Blackpink concert that will be held on Jan. 31 along with fulfilling their individual commitments.

Blinks, as Blackpink fans are called, immediately took to social media to express their joy over the announcement of Lisa and Rosé’s solo debuts. However, some appear to be skeptical about their songs and music videos actually getting released as this is not the first time YG Entertainment has announced solo tracks for each Blackpink member.

“I don't believe anything that yg says until I see it. I don't believe it, wrote one Twitter user.

“I was excited, then I remember all the lies Yg has told and so I won’t believe it until I see a teaser getting dropped,” commented another.

“yg please keep to your word this one time. Don’t postpone lisa and jisoo forever, we’re tired,” wrote another user.

“With YG, I won't believe it until the MV is posted,” tweeted a fourth user.

It appears that Blinks have little trust in the company as another fan wrote, “I’m gonna sit here in silence until I see some teasers drop because I know my feelings are going to get hurt again if I believe this now lol.”
