Blake Griffin May Have Gotten Some Inspiration for his Dunk of the Year
Clippers' star Blake Griffin had some inspiration for his incredible dunk over Kendrick Perkins last Monday.
Two nights earlier, Savalace Townsend of Arkansas Pine Bluff threw down a remarkably similar dunk albeit for a much smaller audience.
On Saturday night at Grambling State, the 6'1 Townsend hammered a freakish rim rocking dunk over 6'7 Bryant Purvis in a 60-55 victory in Grambling, La.
His drive, which begins at midcourt, and the ensuing throw-down, were so monstrous that it brought the road crowd to its feet.
The YouTube video has 2,500 views, but as more basketball fans hear whispers about the Griffin-esque move that number should climb quickly, especially given that Townsend climbs over a defender who is six inches taller than he is.
Compare and contrast Griffin's amazing dunk on Monday to Townsend's college version on Saturday:
