Blake Lively Pregnant: Ryan Reynolds' Wife Hits Red Carpet For First Event Post Baby Announcement

Blake Lively is absolutely glowing in her first appearance since announcing her pregnancy earlier this month. The 27-year-old actress took to the red carpet at the Golden Heart Awards of God’s Love We Deliver in New York City on Thursday night. Wearing a Michael Kors pre-spring/ summer 2015 nude gown, the future mother struck a pose with her growing baby bump.

“It’s something that I’ve always wanted ever since I was a little girl,” Lively told Us Weekly while at the event. “I never knew what I wanted to do for a living, but I knew I wanted to have a lot of kids because I had come from a big family, so it was always important to me. So it’s just the excitement of that finally being here.”

Lively and Ryan Reynolds, 37, wed in 2012 at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The couple announced their exciting news through Lively’s new lifestyle website, Preserve.

“Preserve at the core is about family,” the statement on the site read. “Family is the single word our founder, Blake, built this home on. We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized we don’t have anything for the new. With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all – to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment at the creation of family. Today we celebrate with them. With food to fill their tummies (as if it needs more filling), presents to soothe their tired (and swollen) soles, toys to warm their baby’s souls, projects to provoke the and decorations to inspire creativity and merriment in all.”

Lively’s pregnancy wasn’t directly referenced in the statement, but a photo of the actress at the bottom of the post showed her cradling her baby bump.

The impending baby news didn’t come as a big surprise. Lively spoke to Vogue over the summer and commented on the future of her marriage with Reynolds.

“He’s going to be a great father and leader and patriarch – he’s so meant to be all of those things,” she said. “The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he’s the exact realized person that he should be. And so I get to share my life with the person he’s become, and we get to grow from there.”

This will be the couple's first child. No due date has been announced. Reynolds was previously married to Scarlett Johansson.
