Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are getting married soon, according to reports.
Shelton and Stefani recently applied for a marriage license through the Johnston County Court Clerk in Oklahoma, People has learned. The outlet noted that the marriage license is valid up to 10 days after the date of issuance.
The couple's filing came eight months after their engagement. The "God Gave Me You" crooner and the "Hollaback Girl" singer announced their engagement in October.
An insider told People that the two are looking forward to their summer wedding. They are also excited to have guests present on their big day.
"Ever since they got engaged, they have both been adamant that no wedding will happen until it's safe for family and friends to attend," an unnamed source said. "Gwen expressed early on that she really wanted a summer wedding."
The source added that Stefani was upset earlier this year because the pandemic seemed to be no end. However, she slowly started planning for a wedding in spring.
"They are both ecstatic that it can finally happen. They are getting married this summer. Gwen's boys will be very involved," the source added. "Blake is a great extra dad and very close with the boys."
Stefani and Shelton sparked rumors that they were already married last month when the No Doubt singer was photographed wearing what seemed to be a diamond wedding ring on an outing. The couple walked side by side with her 7-year-old son, Apollo, in Santa Monica. They were wearing matching outfits of navy blue shirts, blue jeans and baseball caps during the sighting.
Her diamond ring next to her engagement sparkler did not go unnoticed to the public. However, several sources said they were not married yet. The couple was said to be willing to wait because they want everything to be safe for their guests to attend the event.
Meanwhile, the singer already celebrated an intimate bridal shower with her family. She documented the celebration in her Instagram Story by sharing photos and videos from the event.
"I got kidnapped by my family to celebrate that I’m getting married!" she said in a video.
