‘Blindspot’ Season 2 Spoilers: Jewel Staite To Guest Star As Power Broker In Episode 19

“Blindspot” has tapped actress Jewel Staite to appear in Season 2, episode 19, titled “Regard a Mere Mad Rager.”

While speaking with TV Line, executive producer Martin Gero revealed that Staite will play the role of a mysterious power broker whose intentions and allegiances are not known to Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and his team. According to the publication, Staite’s appearance in the upcoming episode of the hit NBC series also marks her reunion with Gero. The two worked together in The CW’s “The L.A. Complex” several years ago.

On his Instagram account, Gero also posted a photo from the recording studio that shows Staite on the screen. The EP revealed that they are already mixing the final edit for “Blindspot” Season 2, episode 19.

Meanwhile, Staite isn’t the only female actress who is expected to make an appearance in “Blindspot” Season 2. According to TV Guide, Kurt and his team will be introduced to their new head in the upcoming episode. After Nas (Archie Panjabi) decided to leave, Kurt, Jane (Jaimie Alexander), Zapata (Audrey Esparza), Reade (Rob Brown) and Patterson (Ashley Johnson) all need someone to direct them. Actress Mary Stuart Masterson has been cast in a guest-starring role, and it’s possible that her character will temporarily take over Nas’ position.

But this does not mean Panjabi has already been axed from “Blindspot.” Gero told Entertainment Weekly that her character will be back in the near future. “All I’ll say is this is not the last you’ll see of Archie, I think. When we were lucky enough to cast her, we kept expanding her role, because she’s so great and we love having her,” he said.

“Blindspot” Season 2, episode 19 will air on NBC on April 26 at 8 p.m. EST.
