Travis Barker and his band, Blink 182, took the stage on Saturday for a concert which he admits was difficult to get through following the passing of his close friend DJ AM on Friday.

This night is really hard for us onstage, bassist Mark Hoppus said to the crowd, according to YouTube footage of the show. We lost a dear friend yesterday. His name was Adam Goldstein. You probably know him as DJ AM. He was an innovator and a genius and he loved music more than anything else. Above all he was a very dear friend.

Following the announcement a moment of silence was observed by the crowd and the lights of the arena were dimmed.

DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, was found dead by a friend who went to his apartment looking for him on Friday afternoon. He appears to have died from an apparent drug overdose, according to reports from TMZ a bag of crack was found by his body.
