Blunt and Thermal Trauma Caused Ryan Dunn's Death
Jackass star Ryan Dunn and his friend Zachary Hartwell died from the impact of a crash and the fire that engulfed the 2007 Porsche he was driving early Monday morning,” the Chester County coroner reported Tuesday.
Ryan Dunn died at approximately 3.a.m. on June 20th morning in West Goshen, Pennsylvania, after his 2007 Porshe 911 GT3 skidded off the road, hit a tree and burn in flames. The accident killed Dunn and a co-passenger who has been identified as Zac Hartwell.
The autopsy results revealed that the daredevil star passed away due to blunt force from impact and thermal trauma when flames engulfed his Porsche. Both Dunn and his passenger were dead before ambulances arrived.
His car was capable of reaching 190 mile per hour and the accident was surmised to have been caused by high speed. Shortly before the accident, Dunn posted a photo to his Twitter account at 1 a.m. which apparently showed him drinking with friends.
Ryan Dunn was going 130 mph in his Porsche at the time of the crash that killed the Jackass star and his passenger, according to the West Goshen police.
Police Chief Michael Carroll told reporters an accident reconstruction team determined the speed of the crash after inspecting the scene. Dunn's car collided with a guardrail at high speed, crashed in the woods and burst into flames.
The crash was so catastrophic it prompted Carroll to say it was the worst accident he had ever seen, saying he's never seen a car destroyed in an automobile accident the way this car was ... even before it caught on fire, TMZ reported.
Dunn was an original member of the “Jackass” franchise. He also starred in spinoffs like 'Viva la Bam,' and his own MTV show 'Homewrecker'.
