Bob Furnad, Former CNN Executive, Caught Putting Dog Feces In Mailbox On Surveillance Camera [VIDEO]
Former CNN executive and university professor Bob Furnad admitted to pulling a cruel prank on his neighbors after police caught him putting dog feces in their mailbox.
According to ABC News, Furnad, who was the president of CNN's Headline News from 1997 until 2001, was caught on surveillance camera placing a bag of dog excrement in the mailbox of Benjamin Dameron and Ralph Miller. He is seen on video walking up his neighbor's driveway, opening the mailbox and placing the dog doo bag inside. According to Furnad, it was an act of revenge.
This was an immature act in response to years of malicious rumor mongering that I consider defamation of character, Furnad told the Covington News.
Furnad admitted the prank to local police and refused to apologize for the prank.
Mr. Furnad stated that he did place a bag containing dog feces in the victim's mail box, Covington Police Capt. Ken Malcom told WGCL-TV.
Dameron and Miller, who live in Worthington Manor in Covington, GA, were shocked Furnad, who is professor at the University of Georgia, would do such a thing.
We cannot figure out why he did it, 71-year-old Dameron told ABC News. At this point we really don't care why he did it ... You know it was a silly thing to do, and were over it. I mean it's just a silly prank.
The victims said they have not spoken to Furnad in years and were unaware of any beef he may have had.
Bob Furnad was fined $181 for littering by police, and despite the prank, Benjamin Dameron and Ralph Miller are not planning to sue.
I think this is embarrassing enough for him, as well as everyone in Covington, Dameron said.
