Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Family Reportedly Filming Reality Show Through Tragic Hospitalization
While Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family is grieving by her bedside, it seems that some members of the Brown family are enjoying a grim silver lining to the tragedy. New reports indicate that part of the family is currently filming a reality show about their drama.
The news first came from TMZ, which cites sources close to the production of the show, that most of the Brown family is currently in production on an unknown reality-TV project. While no cameras have been allowed in Emory University Hospital, where Bobbi Kristina Brown has been recovering for more than a month since being found unconscious in a bathtub in late January, the site reports that the family has regular “debriefs” on camera at home where they talk about the 21-year-old’s condition.
While perhaps incredibly inappropriate, the family is not without its reality-TV drama fodder. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding Bobbi Kristina’s condition. Her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, is allegedly being blamed by the family and is not allowed to see her in the hospital.
Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown, apparently will not appear on the reality show and remains by his daughter’s bedside. As for his family, his two sisters, his brother and their children are all reportedly appearing on the show. There’s no word at this time as to when this reality show began production -- before or after the Bobbi Kristina tragedy.
Confirmation has yet to be made as to which network will air the show. The Brown family has previous ties to Bravo, which hosted the show “Being Bobby Brown” from June to December of 2005. The Browns have also worked with Lifetime on the show “The Houstons: On Our Own” that followed the family in the wake of the death of Bobbi Kristina’s mother, Whitney Houston.
According to Us Weekly, the Brown family has refused to comment on the existence of any reality show, so it’s possible that it is simply a rumor. However, the outlet notes that Leolah Brown has hinted about an opportunity to tell her side of the story on Facebook this past weekend, saying:
“Never will I try to make a name for myself to make one appear bad or ugly in others eyes...for my only interest is The Truth and the well being of my niece Bobbi Kriss Period," she wrote. "With that said stay tuned for THE TRUTH coming from MY mouth. For there is much that is serious and needs to be said to help others coming afterwards.”
Leolah Brown went on to say that Bobbi Kristina was suffering from neglect and greed by people who wanted to see her in this exact position.
