Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Nick Gordon Allegedly Says Girlfriend Overdosed
A new report claims Bobbi Kristina Brown had been using drugs the day she fell into a coma earlier this year. Her boyfriend Nick Gordon allegedly said they were both doing drugs in January, and that she overdosed before being found unconscious in a bathtub Jan. 31.
Gordon, 25, has kept quiet since the incident, despite lawyers wanting to question him. His silence was reportedly the reason Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown, was preventing him from seeing her. “Mr. Gordon has every right to remain silent and not share his version of the events with Bobby Brown,” Brown’s lawyer said in a statement in February. “We are only concerned with individuals that can help Bobbi Kristina and bring resolution to this investigation.
While Gordon wouldn’t talk to lawyers, he was apparently willing to talk to others. According to TMZ, Gordon made the accusations about drug use on a phone call in February that he didn’t know was being recorded. “I'll tell you the honest truth, Krissy, she was under a lot of stress and we were all doing drugs and you know, all, all drinking, bro,” Gordon allegedly said. “She just did too much man. She, listen, listen bro. I will officially stay from bath tubs forever, I'll tell you that.”
This isn’t the first time that Bobbi Kristina, 22, was accused of drug use. After the aspiring singer was found unconscious in a bathtub on Jan. 31 and put into a medically induced coma, reports surfaced that the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston had a substance abuse problem.
Multiple sources told People that Bobbi Kristina “regularly used heroin, cocaine and Xanax.” Steven Stepho, who died of a suspected overdose last week, claimed that he was Bobbi Kristina’s drug dealer. Most recently, the writer of a Whitney Houston and Bobbi Kristina biography, Ian Halperin, went on the record stating that they both used drugs.
“I have incontrovertible evidence the last few months they were together, they were on drugs almost all the time,” Halperin told Entertainment Tonight. “It's just proportion to heights nobody could even imagine.”
Gordon’s phone conversation didn’t stop there though. “If they take her off that life support, the police are going to have to take me down bro,” he reportedly said.
After Bobbi Kristina’s family put her in hospice care, Gordon hired a team of lawyers. It isn’t clear if they are to work on the potential murder case that could happen when Bobbi Kristina dies or if they are to fight the lawsuit from Bobbi Kristina’s conservator, Bedelia C. Hargrove. The lawsuit accuses Gordon of abusing his girlfriend and stealing $11,000 from her bank account while she was comatose.
Bobbi Kristina is still in hospice care. Family members are reportedly making burial plans to lay her to rest in New Jersey by her mother’s grave.
