Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Oprah Interview Brings Record 3.5M Viewers To OWN [VIDEO]
Bobbi Kristina Brown's interview with Oprah Winfrey brought the talk show host's struggling OWN network a record 3.5 million viewers on Sunday.
The Bobbi Kristina interview is the first that Whitney Houston's daughter has given since her mother died last month. The 90-minute interview aired at 9 p.m. on OWN's Oprah's Next Chapter. It will be rerun at 8 p.m. on Monday.
According to The Wrap, the 3.5 million viewers reported by the network is its biggest viewership yet. OWN's previously most-watched program was Oprah's Jan. 8 interview with pastor Joel Osteen. That drew 1.6 million total viewers, The Wrap reported.
In Sunday's interview, Bobbi Kristina told Oprah that she intends to carry on her mother's legacy and become a singer and actress. It was reported that Houston has left all her money, jewelry and more to Bobbi Kristina in her will.
Bobbi Kristina is 19 years old and she is the only daughter Houston had with ex-husband Bobby Brown.
The teen said she cannot listen to her mother's music at this time.
I can sing her music, but to hear it right now I can't, Bobbi Kristina told Oprah. I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me and telling me, 'Keep moving baby. I'm right here. I got you.' She is always with me. I can always feel her with me.
Houston died on Feb. 11 at the Beverly Hilton hotel. Bobbi Kristina told Oprah that she is handling her mother's death as best as she possibly can.
I am getting through it, you know, she said. Just trying to keep going. I gotta keep going.
Oprah also spoke with Whitney Houston's brother, Gary, and his wife, Patricia, about her death, her ex-husband Bobby Brown, her mother Cissy, and the casket photo leaked to the National Enquirer.
Patricia Houston clarified that Houston's body was found in her hotel suite by her aunt, Mary, and then security was called in.
Oprah has said that Cissy Houston has indicated that she is not angry at the Newark, N.J., funeral home that handled her daughter's funeral arrangements.
Gary Houston told Oprah that he felt the publishing of his sister's open casket photo on the front of the tabloid was very intrusive and very wicked.
