Bobbi Kristina Suicidal? Bobby Brown Quits Tour to Be With Whitney Houston's Daughter
Whitney Houston's ex-husband Bobby Brown has left his reunion tour with New Edition and flown to Los Angeles, Calif., to be with daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, who was briefly hospitalized after Houston's death on Saturday at age 48.
Bobbi Kristina, 18, the only child of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center around 11:15 a.m. PT on Sunday morning. She was released later that day, a source close to the family told CNN. But in the wake of her mother's tragic death, family members are reportedly worried that the singer's daughter may be suicidal.
Bobby Brown Comforts Bobbi Kristina
According to TMZ, Bobbi Kristina was hysterical, exhausted and inconsolable when she was hospitalized Sunday, and sources close to the family report that they are worried she might try to kill herself. Sources at Hollywoodlife.com, meanwhile, report that the singer's daughter does not want to live anymore.
Whitney Houston's daughter reportedly got into a shouting match with police officers outside her mother's fourth-floor hotel room when they informed her no one was allowed in. TMZ said she screamed, cursed and demanded to see her mother before ultimately leaving.
Bobby Brown, meanwhile, Houston's ex-husband, was on tour with his original R&B group New Edition when the news broke of Houston's death.
Brown still went on stage in Mississippi, but had to stop during a song. He pointed to the sky and said, I love you, Whitney, before breaking down and crying.
Now that Bobby Brown is flying to Los Angeles to be with his daughter, Whitney Houston's family and friends are hoping that Bobbi Kristina Brown will have her father to turn to in the wake of her mother's tragic death.
Brown released a statement about his daughter's health this weekend.
Obviously the death of her mother is affecting her, he told Extra. However, we will get through this tragedy as a family. Again, I ask for privacy during this time.
'She was the adult in the relationship.'
Those who know the close relationship Bobbi Kristina Brown had with mom Whitney Houston, however, remain worried it will take a lot more than her father's presence to get her stable again.
Bobbi Kristina wasn't just Whitney Houston's daughter. She was also her caretaker after the six-time Grammy Award winner began to struggle with substance abuse and addiction.
Bobbi Kristina basically grew up her mother's caretaker, similar to Frances Bean, a source told ABC, comparing her to the daughter of singers Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain.
In a way, she was the adult in relationship.
Kim Burrell: 'She loves hard.'
Singer Kim Burrell, meanwhile, a friend of the family, told CNN that she was with Bobbi Kristina on Saturday at the Beverly Hills hotel where Whitney Houston died. She saw firsthand how devastated Houston's daughter was after finding her mother's body on Saturday night.
As to be expected, she's overwhelmed--it's her mother, Burrell said. She knows how much her mother meant to the world.
Burrell feels confident that Bobbi Kristina Brown will survive the tragedy of losing her mother, but noted that the pain would be intense.
Bobbi Kristina has a huge heart, just like her mother, she said. She loves hard.
According to US Weekly, Bobbi Kristina Brown has an impressive voice, much like that of her late mother. Houston and Brown had begun working together on songs in a recording studio shortly before Houston died.
