Bobby Flay’s Ex-Wife Stephanie March Talks Divorce And Plastic Surgery Nightmare
For the first time since they went their separate ways, “Law & Order: SVU” star Stephanie March got candid about her split from Food Network star Bobby Flay. The actress talked about her split from the New York chef and her regrettable decision to get plastic surgery.
March, 41, said nothing helped her deal with the pain of her 10-year marriage ending. “Nothing, nothing was helping me cope. Not therapy, not patience, not wine-soaked dinners with friends where I ‘got it all out.’ … I could not fix it — any of it,” she wrote in an essay for Refinery29 Tuesday. “I decided to try one last thing. And what I did next was exactly what you are not supposed to do when it comes to plastic surgery. I decided to change my body because I couldn’t change my life.”
The actress decided to get breast implants. She liked them just fine—until one of them burst. “I sat up in bed and felt a sickening wet mucus sliding down my chest,” she said in the essay. “It was everywhere, soaking my shirt and the sheets. My right implant was infected and the seams of the scar on my right breast had burst. … I had a hole in my breast for six weeks while I blasted my body with antibiotics. I had the implant put back in. I had another infection and rupture on Christmas Eve. I had it taken out again. I had more cultures and tests and conversations with doctors than I care to recall.”
Ultimately, she made the decision to remove the implants altogether. It turned out she was allergic to them. I said, 'Enough of this. I have other things to worry about. Take them out. I’m done with this project,’” she wrote.
Now, she has found love with a new beau, hedge fund manager Daniel Benton. “And now, I anticipate summer of 2016 with great joy. I will be poolside, beachside and swimming — and perhaps, in a more daring moment (with a margarita nearby), I will be topless.”
The new couple was first spotted together by the New York Post’s Page Six in April. The two are reportedly “crazy about each other.”
