‘The Bold Type’ Flashes Back To The Beginning In Episode 6

“The Bold Type” Season 3, episode 6 lives up to its “#TBT” title. The Freeform show will travel back to 2014 to show Jane meeting Kat and Sutton for the first time.

“The Scarlet email hack brings up memories of the trio’s first meeting four years ago, reminding them that together they can overcome anything,” the episode 6 synopsis reads.

The trailer gives a better idea of what’s happening. The hackers released every Scarlet email on the servers. That brings up a story from the Scarlet offices that doesn’t make Jacqueline (Melora Hardin) look good. It turns out to be connected to Jane’s (Katie Stevens) first day as an intern at Scarlet.

Scenes from the promo video show a man having an adverse reaction to something and Jacqueline demanding an ambulance. “Poisoning a major advertiser wasn’t part of your Scarlet dream?” Kat (Aisha Dee) asks Jane during their first meeting in the fashion closet.

Another sneak-peek video shows just how different things were. Sutton (Meghann Fahy) was seriously broke, surviving mostly on free food at work. She says she hasn’t had a good hookup in a while, and Kat agrees. Jane notes that Kat was with a guy just this morning, but Kat says it wasn’t good.

Sutton says her last hookup asked her to rate him out of five stars. He only got a two and a half since asking for a rating lost him two stars.

Another clip from Tuesday’s episode of “The Bold Type” shows Jane meeting Jacqueline and Andrew (Adam Capriolo). Jacqueline is inspirational, as always, but Andrew is a lot peppier.

The series will also deal with the fallout of the hack in the present day. A third sneak-peek video from “The Bold Type” shows Sutton looking through Oliver’s (Stephen Conrad Moore) leaked emails. They have to determine who will get apologies.

“I don’t get why people are so upset. It’s OK to be a little snarky if you’re funny,” Oliver reasons. “Velociraptor in Versace? That’s funny.”

Elsewhere in the present, Jane will be trying to figure out how to verify her Pamela Dolan story. She needs a source to go on record about the alleged abuse, but everyone is running scared after the Scarlet hack. How far will Jane go to get the facts?
