The first teaser for “No Time to Die” elicits a whole new look at a more rugged James Bond, played by Daniel Craig, and it also reveals that a full-length trailer is set to release on Wednesday. Lasting nearly 14 seconds, the short teaser showcases only a handful of scenes set to appear in “No Time to Die” at a rapid-fire pace.

Starring a handful of stars, such as Léa Seydoux, Jeffrey Wright, Rami Malek, Naomie Harris, and Ralph Fiennes, “No Time to Die” will be the last Craig-led incarnation of the character. It will mark the fifth time he has filled Bond’s always well-tailored suit and will be the 25th entry in the 007 movie pantheon.

The “No Time to Die” plot thus far known sees an evil eco-friendly Safin (Malek) disrupting the peace and quiet of the now ex-MI6 Bond. Felix Leiter, CIA agent and friend of Bond’s, tasks 007 with uncovering the disappearance of a scientist, which leads the British spy down a rabbit hole of international mishaps, car chases, and malicious espionage.

“No Time to Die” may well prove to be far bloodier and bombastic than ever before, as so revealed in the Bond 25 sneak peek and the recently unveiled teaser. On the nature of Malek’s villainous role, long-time Bond franchise film producer Barbara Broccoli said in an interview with Empire:

“We’ve thrown the book at him on this one…[Safin] is really the supervillain. He’s the one that really gets under Bond’s skin. He’s a nasty piece of work.”

The mysterious Safin character won’t be the only one exuding treachery in “No Time to Die,” as Malek will be joined by “Captain Marvel” star Lashana Lynch in the unknown role of Nomi. And, if that wasn’t enough baddies for one Bond film, Christoph Waltz will also be making his fated return as Bond’s rival and foster-brother, Ernst Stavo Blofeld.

While Craig himself won’t be returning to the role, he has stated before that he is willing to direct the next 007 franchise film. It’s unclear as of yet who may be the next James Bond, though some have considered a female leading the 007 character.

A “No Time to Die” trailer drops Wednesday and the feature film opens in theaters on April 8, 2020.
