Episode 7 of “Bones” on FOX got pretty emotional. Agent Aubrey (John Boyd) took the case a little too personally when the murder victim turned out to be a broker at a powerful investment firm, just like Aubrey’s father who walked out when he was a kid. Episode 8, “The Puzzler in the Pit,” will be a little different and, while it won’t be all fun and games, the new case will involve a games master.

According to the synopsis, Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) will be on the case of a murdered puzzle master who was famous for creating very challenging newspaper crossword puzzles. The promo for the episode even suggests that his impossible puzzles could have been the motive for his murder. However, things will get a bit more complicated when they discover that the victim was suffering from mental illness when he was killed.

Episode 8 will also be the return of Daisy (Carla Gallo). Daisy has been absent the past few episodes since Sweets (John Francis Daley) was murdered during the conspiracy investigation in the Season 10 premiere. Daisy will come back to the show very far along in her pregnancy and will not be at her best. She will seek some comfort from doula, Valentina (guest star Mindy Cohn).

Will Booth and Brennan be able to solve the puzzling case? Plus, what can fans expect from Daisy in her first real appearance since the tragedy with Sweets? Fans will have to tune in next week to find out. “Bones” airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
