Bonnaroo 2012: What, When and Where Is the Music Festival?

The Bonnaroo Music and Art's Festival is Thursday, June 7th to Sunday, June 10th in Manchester, Tennessee. Bonnaroo takes place on a 700 acre farm that holds over 10 stages and 150 performances. According to the Bonnaroo website, the farm becomes Tennessee's 7th largest city overnight.

Bonnaroo is celebrating its 11th year. Headliners for the Festival are Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish and The Beach Boys. Other bands to be performing at Bonnaroo 2012 include The Avett Brothers, The Shins, Foster The People, Feist, and Dispatch.

The Bonnaroo Festival draws 80,000 music lovers to its acres. Tickets for Bonnaroo 2012 go on sale Saturday, February 18th at noon. Festival tickets are four-day passes, and include parking for your car, and a camp spot. Camp grounds can be up to a 20-30 minute walk to Centeroo, as well as the Main Venue. Within the campgrounds are sinks, showers, and food trucks.

Inside the Festival, Bonarooians can find the Broo'ers Festival. Last year the Broo'ers Festival had over 20 breweries, including Yazoo, Blue Moon, Brooklyn, Thomas Creek and Sierra Nevada. The Great Taste Lounge brewed by Miller Lite, and Food Truck Oasis are also returning for the 2012 Festival to provide refreshing beverages and delicious food. Those attending Bonnaroo can also get in touch with their body by attending free yoga classes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

Camping outside for four days in Tennessee in June can get a little dirty. Garnier Fructis will once again be returning to Bonnaroo to offer campers complimentary hair washing, styling, samples and giveaways.

Manchester, Tennessee is located about 60 miles southeast of Nashville, and 40 miles northwest of Chattanooga. If travelling by car it's best to carpool due to the heavy traffic of festival-goers. For those who decide to fly, most fly into Nashville International Airport (BNA). Bonnaroo offers a shuttle bus from the airport for those flying in. For those renting a car, the airport is less than an hour from Manchester. Chattanooga Airport (CHA) is an hour and 15 minutes away, Knoxville Airport (TYS) is three hours away, and Atlanta Airport (ATL) is a little under three and a half hours away. Another option for travel is the Greyhound Bus Line which goes right to Manchester, Tennessee. The bus station is a mile from the Bonnaroo farm.
