Kevin Hart has been cast as the role of Roland in the video game turned movie, “Borderlands,” and fans of the game are being vocal about how much they despise the choice.

The Lionsgate film has kept the plot of the movie hush-hush, but viewers can expect it to center around the 2009 game.

The game takes place on the planet of Pandora while “Vault-Hunters” try to save the galaxy while obtaining loot along the way, according to the game’s website.

In the game, Roland is seen as a tall and strong character who in the movie is described as a “skilled ex-soldier-turned-mercenary” by Variety.

Fans of the game are confused why they would cast Hart when he doesn’t look anything like the video game version of his character.

Other fans believe he would have been better suited for the role of Claptrap, who’s a CL4P-TP general-purpose robot with a very enthusiastic personality.

In addition to Hart, Cate Blanchett will be playing the role of Lilith, who is in the Siren class in the game.

A release date or filming date hasn’t been announced yet. There are also three "Borderlands" episodes/seasons, so whether or not there will be sequels to the movie is unknown.

Hart’s recent work includes “The Man From Toronto” and “Fatherhood.” He’s best known for his roles in the new “Jumanji” series, “Ride Along” and “Central Intelligence.”
