'Boruto: Naruto Next Generations' Episode 229 Spoilers: Kawaki Gets Another Chance

Kawaki failed to pass the last exam that he needed to clear in order to become a genin. In "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" Episode 229, Kawaki is getting another mission to prove his worth as a ninja. The new episode is titled "Breach of Orders."

The official promo trailer of Episode 229 is out. It opens with Kawaki telling his new teammates, Nara Shikadai and Akimichi ChouChou, that he will complete this mission.

Kawaki, Shikadai and ChouChou are tasked to escort Mozuku back to his homeland, the Land of Calm Seas. However, Mozuku feels a shinobi who arrives late will not be able to finish the mission. He wonders if Kawaki is serious about executing the mission.

In the previous episode, titled "Kawaki's Path to Becoming a Ninja," Kawaki was selected to attempt a special test that will ensure he becomes a genin.

He got a D-rank mission but his team members found him difficult to work with. And he ended up failing the test.

"In order for Kawaki to become a genin, it's decided that he can take a special test that differs from the one held at the Ninja Academy. A D-rank mission is deemed to be equivalent, so Kawaki is assigned as an additional member. However, he is difficult to work with, ignores the need for teamwork, and acts on his own—giving his teammates a hard time while disrupting the mission!" read the official synopsis of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" Episode 228, according to Crunchyroll.

The cast of the anime includes Yuuko Sanpei as Boruto Uzumaki, Noriaki Sugiyama as Sasuke Uchiha, Kokoro Kikuchi as Sarada Uchiha, Ryuuichi Kijima as Mitsuki, Junko Takeuchi as Naruto Uzumaki, Chiharu Sawashiro as Hiruga, Hidenori Takahashi as Konohamaru Sarutobi, Shoutarou Morikubo as Shikamaru Nara, Kunihiro Kawamoto as Omoi, Nana Mizuki as Hinata Hyuuga, Tetsuya Kakihara as Deepa, Yūichi Nakamura as Koji Kashin, Yūma Uchida as Kawaki, Houko Kuwashima as Delta, Kenta Miyake as Boro, Akio Ohtsuka as Amado, Junta Terashima as Code and Kenjiro Tsuda as Jigen.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" Episode 229 is scheduled for release on Dec. 19. The episodes are streaming on Crunchyroll, Hulu and Apple TV.
