Boston College fires head football coach
The game is over for Jeff Jagodzinski, its not time to say good-bye.
BC's athletic director Gene DeFilippo announced the firing at a press conference this afternoon held at BC's Yawkey Center, DeFilippo said Jagodzinski was dismissed because of a difference of vision for the future.
In a statement released by Jeff Jagodzinski through Boston College today, he said that he and his realy enjoyed well with BC, My family and I have enjoyed and cherished being a part of this great community. I would like to thank many people, especially Father Leahy and Gene DeFilippo for the privilege to work here.
Jagodzinski also thanked school officials. I am so proud of what these student athletes and our staff have accomplished during our tenure here. I wish everyone at Boston College the best in the years to come both on and off the field, Jagodzinski said.
A coach of his talents and personality will have many future opportunities and I am certain of his continued success, DeFilippo said to praise Jagodzinski.
DeFilippo will have to move quickly to fill the vacant head coaching position. The drama that has been unfolding the past few days is beginning to affect recruiting, which according to some hadn't been going all that well in the first place.
