Boutique brand innovation studio has announced its intention to expand its global footprint with a new creative hub in Mexico City. The agency had transitioned to a virtual work culture long before Covid struck in view of better work-life balance and easier access to global talent. The new creative hub in Mexico City will serve as the agency's hub of operations in Latin America. While the company is open to employees working from home and from different locations, they can come together when needed for collaborative work and for engaging with clients at this new creative hub, which is located in the Havas building in Reforma close to the center of Mexico City. The city has, in recent years turned into a hotspot of creativity. It has been celebrated for its innovative approach to design after being recognized as the Official Design Capital of the World in 2018.

Commenting on the new creative hub, Antonio Patric Buchanan, Co-CEO of the agency said, "We have long felt the need for a base in Latin America as some of our clients like Cinionic have an extensive presence in South America. For them, this region is one of their fastest-growing markets. In view of the supply chain issues experienced during the pandemic, many companies have factories and branches in Latin America now rather than in Asia or the Far East. Panama and Brazil were our other options but Mexico city made the most sense in view of its cultural scene, availability of talent, and its proximity to the US."

Thanks to the virtual work culture at Antonio & Paris, the agency is not US-centric like other agencies. The firm works closely with creatives spread across different countries like Iceland, the Philippines, India, and the US with collaborative work being carried out at central hubs like the new one in Mexico City. In terms of creativity, the agency benefits greatly from this cultural and ethnic diversity. The first hub is in Los Angeles and the long-term plan is to have four such hubs across the world. According to Antonio, for one particular client, the creatives could be based in India, the UK, and Miami while the project lead could be in California and the strategist is in Oregon. This is representative of the manner in which the agency functions in general. Another differentiating factor is that not everyone is a full-time employee. It has onboarded several highly talented freelancers who work for the agency as a side hustle. This is a win-win scenario for both parties as the agency and its clients benefit from the services of highly talented and specialized people like animation designers and video producers whom the client may not have had access to due to location.

There is no clear demarcation between the strategic and creative processes. The agency goes to great lengths to ensure that the creatives are part of the planning process so that by the time they are at the creative phase of branding, the creatives are well on board. Antonio & Paris has proprietary tools and strategies and works with clients at the C-suite level to offer truly innovative solutions. They don't follow a siloed approach. Rather than being just a brand agency, they are a design firm, innovation firm, and management consulting firm, all wrapped into one. This is their true differentiator.

Said Paris Buchanan, Co-CEO and Chief Creative Director at Antonio & Paris "We see ourselves as global citizens, and this model helps us to learn from other cultures so that we can provide our clients with the best insights and creative work. Our hubs will serve as places for our team members and clients to converge. Another idea we are going to implement is to have five residencies in a year where everyone will get together in one place and the employees in that city will host us. We will spend about 10 days immersing ourselves in the local culture so that we can connect to each other and our clients better. Our work culture is that while we work hard we give everyone enough time off to do their own thing and have a proper work-life balance. These are among the reasons why compared to other agencies we have a much higher retention rate."

Senior staff have already taken charge at the new office in Mexico City and started looking for new talent to augment the team. In addition to the new hub in Mexico City, the agency has ambitious plans for the future. Antonio & Paris has just been named as the branding agency of record for an Indian company, the Magick Group, to manage its branding in India, Canada, and the United States. There are also plans to set up other creative hubs in Asia and Europe so that the agency wins more global clients.
