Boxer Adrien Broner Furious ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ Producers Tried To Fake Scene With Karlie Redd
Adrien Broner pulled the plug on his "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" appearance. The 26-year-old boxer was slated to film a scene with his longtime friend Karlie Redd, but got upset when producers supposedly wanted him to spice things up by flirting with the reality star.
According to TMZ, Broner stopped by the Playboy Radio Building where Redd was hosting a show but abruptly ended his scene with her before cameras even got a chance to start rolling. The site reported the boxer felt "duped" by the "Love & Hip Hop" producers because they asked him to act like there was sexual tension between him and Redd. Broner, who’s married to Arie Nicole, thought he was coming on the show to simply support the reality star’s radio gig.
"They tried to get me to basically belittle my wife and I can’t do that," Broner told a TMZ photographer. "I will never… disrespect my woman."
When asked if he was going to try and work something out with the producers, Broner said there was no reason to because everyone on the VH1 series is at the ends of their careers.
"Ain’t nobody on ‘Love & Hip Hop’ but some artists at the end of they [sic] career trying to boost they [sic] career back up," Broner said, adding, "Broke models trying to get on. I’m on. We good.”
According to Wetpaint, Redd and her other cast members Lil Scrappy and Stevie J have already started filming for Season 5 of the show.
The new season of "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" hasn't been given a release date yet, but will most likely premiere next year following Season 6 of the original "Love & Hip Hop." "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" is currently airing on VH1 right now.
