Shane Mosley Jr., son of former world boxing champ “Sugar” Shane Mosley, has learned some tips from Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.

Mosley Jr., 28, is already a pro boxer competing at middleweight division. With an impressive record of 15-3-0, Mosley is currently eyeing a big fight next year. As he prepares for “good possibilities,” the boxing rising star stated that he has learned from Mexican superstar Canelo.

In a brief catch-up interview with Elie Seckbach of EsNews, Mosley revealed that he and his camp have been very focused on training and are looking for a breakthrough fight in 2020.

“We’re looking for some good possibilities in 2020 and just staying in focus,” Mosley said.

When asked about which division he is planning to fight next, Mosley reveled that they have been exploring some options at 154-lb division as well. However, they are currently focused at 160 at the moment.

“160! But we got some ideas at 154 but as of right now still at 160,” Mosley said when asked which division he is eyeing to fight for next.

The aspiring world champion was the asked to comment about Canelo, the reigning champ in the division he’s fighting at. According to Mosley, he is convinced that Canelo is the pound-the-pound king today before revealing that he already spent some time with the four-division champ. In fact, he even got the chance to spar with Alvarez.

“I spend a little time with Canelo. It was great actually, I got to spar with him actually. It was a good experience, I learned a lot,” Mosley revealed.

Mosley Jr. then stated some of the things he has learned from Canelo. As per the young Mosley, Alvarez got great movement and combinations but what he has learned a lot was the explosiveness he possessed.

“He’s super duper explosive. That’s why I actually learned from him. He’s got great movement but the explosiveness is just incredible,” Mosley said about sparring with Canelo.

In a different interview, Mosley weighed in on two of the best opponents his father has faced – Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Mosley made a bold prediction of the highly anticipated rematch between the two legends and even emphasized that Pacquiao will never be able to beat Mayweather.

“I don’t think Manny could beat Floyd Mayweather,” Mosley predicted.

“I think he’s always gonna have Manny Pacquiao’s number. That is Floyd Mayweather,” he added.
